The world of Pokemon today is a lot different from the world of yesterday. How were Pokemon used when they were first being discovered as partners? What exactly were they being used for in the first place?
The first war of the world began when the humans in the earliest of days began to mistreat Pokemon. The Pokemon themselves revolted, and many species were wiped out. The humans succeeded in keeping the Pokemon at bay, but they paid the price - the Pokemon were mistrusting. They demanded a treaty, and the humans promised that they would be treated justly, as equals. As partners.
The humans and the Pokemon lived in peace for many years, until soon, a tyrannical group called Septus rose into power. It was in the days of the Black Plague, making it easy to influence the weak minds of the common people. They convinced them all that the Plague itself was caused by the dark and evil Pokemon, such as Rattata, Ghastly, and Houndour. They soon banned Dark and Ghost Pokemon, along with Rattata and Raticate.
Some members of Rusei stood up to Septus' tyrannical rule. Calling themselves the Rusei Knights, they tried their best to stop the group's rise to power by keeping the banned Pokemon along with trying to fight off the team.
Many legendary Pokemon noticed their plight, and soon began to take sides. Was a war about to occur? You have the power to change history.

So, welcome to all new members once again. Please be sure to check back here a lot - we've got our first activity check coming up soon, and a new promo will be opening up sometime in December.

Yes, the Ban's still in effect. We need Septus members. Two more and we should be good.

Our shop is almost completed~!

 A step, a voyage, a beginning ((open!))
« Thread Started on Oct 29, 2008, 1:41pm »

The sky was a canvas of colors as Reid took his step outside, his first step outside in some time, and breathed deeply. Ah. To go outside and enjoy the night air was a past time of his, just he had been busy doing things for the Rusei Knights. But his business had finally abated, for now, and he siezed the chance do do a new thing, and an old thing, basically killing two birds with one stone.

He was going training, and meditating on the letter. THe letter. What could be in it? Tomorrow morning he would find out, finally, after that entire year, and he would be able to end this mystery that kept him up at night, wondering. Still, brooding on it for now would be pointless. No, he was going to train his new pokemon, his Riolu, and now was the best time. Dark types probably liked the dark, he assumed, and his Riolu was built to fight dark types. It would make easy combat for him, easy experience and level ups.

The riolu in question strolled around, smiling to himself as he admired the sunset, not noticing his cloaked training watching him. A thought ran though his head of why he was stuck with him. He was so depressing! Always brooding on darkness, and never seemingly to lighten up. Speaking of lightening up, he never seemed to go out during the day, save for ten or so mintues.

Reid turned to his Riolu, Eliwood, and said "Well, you ready? Today we can see if we can do some training. Obviously." His face was obscured, but his voice ran out sure. When it came to things he was passionate about, no room for concern was there. He wouldn't allow it.

Surprisingly enough, the small Houndour was sleeping, even at the time of night when he was supposed to be awake. Though many in his pack considered him to be lazy or incompetant, he was pretty strong and took it upon himself to sleep more than the rest. Now, was he really that powerful? Only compared to the rest of his pack - and that was without even battling others outside of the pack. He had only had experience with other Dark Pokemon, and trying to keep away from the humans and their exile was challenging enough. He deserved it.

The sound of footsteps made the black, skulled Pokemon's ears quiver, and his sleep was finally disturbed. His eyes peeled open slowly, and an aggravated look crossed his features. Somebody was being too disruptive. And nobody should be disruptive around him - his entire pack had figured that out the hard way, and so would these newcomers.

He rose, and his fur bristled. The scent...it was a human. Sure enough, the pair came along, human and Pokemon alike. Hand in hand? Not quite, but it was still too cutesy for him. He growled and curled his lip in disgust. How gross. A human and a Pokemon...humans hated Pokemon enough, why did the Pokemon have to suck up to the humans like that? It was vile and...beneath him, that was for sure.

<Why do you dare to disturb my sleep?> the dog asked, almost too calm for being angry. His tiny tail was stiff, and his bone-ringed paws were digging into the ground.

This Houndour was not a morning person.

Reid stretched as he took the hood off his face, sun down now and revealing a somewhat pale man, who stretched his arms behind his back, before saying to his Riolu "Something comes. Ready." He stood, calm, as he saw what appeared to be one of the forbidden dark types, a houndour. Now, should he catch it, or faint it? Deciding that he'd just roll with the punches, until either oppertunity presented itself, and he heard his words, conveyed though the Riolu, who translated for him. He just smiled, then said to his Riolu "Force palm." Seemed odd to just randomly jump out and attack a pokemon, but he wanted to train, and this was the way to do it.

The Riolu looked at the sour dog type pokemon, and said "I do." He gave a smile, then said "So what are you going to do about it?" His face turned serious, this was training, not a time to make friends or be nice. At the trainers command, he moved into a ready stance, then flew at the pokemon hand preparing the attack, until he was nearby, and the attack unleashed itself, aimed straight at the pokemon's chest, which should make good contact. He smiled as he finished the move, and waited for the pokemon to fall. Surely such an attack would knock out that pokemon.

The Houndour stared - more like glared - at the two newcomers. The man's face was extremely pale in complexion...and that Riolu looked really tough. But of course he could handle it! He wouldn't let himself get caught by a couple of rookies...He growled and braced himself, sensing an attack heading towards him.

Force Palm hit him square in the chest, and he flew backwards with a howl. He got up, still shaky, and shook off his fur. He smirked at the Riolu. <Hrn, good attack, but you've gotta do better than that to beat me. I'm the strongest Houndour in this area, and I won't let anybody beat me up!> he barked, before suddenly heading towards the Riolu with a fast pace. He paused and inhaled deeply before spitting out a bunch of fire tongs at the psychic Pokemon.

<Take this!> he barked, his ears flying backwards. The Ember was aimed at the Riolu, and hopefully it would hit...but this Houndour wasn't really one to mess up on accuracy.

Reid smiled as the attack connected, a slight smile that would have been hard to see if not the for the fact that the smile on his face looked out of place on there. As if such a foreign thing was a transgression against himself, it gave him a slightly sinister look. Needless to say, this wasn't a happy smile. This was a plotting sinister smile. Then again, a man like Reid rarely gave off smiles beyond that sort, though should you get him to smile sincerely, you'll know. Its quite interesting really. Though being able to see that is a once in a lifetime experience.

In any case, he saw the other being to retaliate, and said " Charge the hit." He watched, an impassive observer of the fight, while wondering if maybe he would have to get serious. This houndour had taken that hit rather well, maybe this might actually be a nice challenge. "Screech." He said when the tatic was complete, smiling to himself, a little less sinisterly, and little more smirk.

Elliwood smirked at his comment, and said "There's more where that came from, believe me!" He then was going to dodge, before Reid told him to charge. Confusion registered on his face, but he did, getting hit square, but it soon died, and he was in a good position to retaliate. Ah. So thats what had made him do that. Maybe Reid did know what he was doing? Sure he had proven himself, but the Riolu was still suspicious. He seemed too depressed to have a general's head on his shoulders. At the next command, he opened his mouth, and let out a bone chilling screech, waiting for his next move.

The Houndour's ears flew backwards even further at the sight of that trainer's sinister smile. That man was plotting something - from the looks of his fit Riolu, he wasn't a new trainer. He was experienced, and dangerous. Well, it was his fault for picking a fight with this houndour, and the small dog was surely going to make him pay! He growled under his breath, watching, waiting for what his new opponent was going to pull off next...

The opponent ran into the hit, which was really no surprise. An Ember attack against a Riolu this strong wouldn't do much against him. But the Houndour smirked at the next orders. A Screech attack - sure, they were extremely effective, but their low hit rates would make this an easy miss. The dog bounded out of the way of the Screech attack, getting slightly hit by the outskirts of it - he was only mildly grazed, and though his Defense was down, it was only down by a small amount. He leered and lowered his head. <Gotta be quicker than that to beat me, kid,> he said.

Hm, ironic, when he was practically a kid himself.

His mouth parted open, and he took a deep breath before letting a Smog cloud escape from his mouth. He smirked a little - though accuracy chance was lower, he had a plan in mind...having the attack hit, though he was really trying to aim for the Riolu, would just be a bonus.

He seemed worried by the smirk that was laid on his face, and that only caused it to grow wider, a far more sinister smirk after he realized he was getting to the dark types head. That was always a good thing. That, and making perceptions. If one thought you were better than you were, they were more likely to make mistakes. Or if they though they could easily trounce you, they'd make mistakes becuase they felt cocky. Either way, it was a win win for him. He watched him, wondering what his next move would be, and at seeing the smog cloud, he grinned, and said "Run into it!"

Eliwood was confused at that, why would he run into an attack he could likely dodge? Still he did it, coming out coughing and then Reid said "Now! Screech again!" Wondering why he would do such a foolish thing as the same attack over again, he did it, giving another bone chilling screech, directly at the pokemon who had stopped moving, before darting away, wondering what his trainer was thinking. At this rate, he'd be badly hurt before would even give off an attack. Then, the plan hit him. It was perfect, ingenious, and he'd never see it coming.

Reid saw the look on comprehension on his face, and grinned. Well, maybe he wasn't so foolish after all.

The small hound grinned when the little Riolu ran directly into the cloud. The gases in the cloud were poisonous, of course, but the compounds inside would make it extremely easy for his Ember attack to be multiplied. This trainer, was he stupid? His Riolu could easily have been hurt with that attack, and he could have evaded it even more easily...Eyes narrowed at the thought. Maybe he had some sort of plan in mind...not like he would be able to go through with it.

He saw the Screech attack coming, but he couldn't dive away in time. The hit was direct, and his ears flew back from the pain of the sound. His Defense was down, but the clouds of Smog would be able to raise his evasiveness, right? He growled low under his breath before taking a large intake of air.

He blew out fiery embers from his maw, and they were indeed magnified by the chemicals in his Smog attack. However, accuracy was a problem he did not forsee. His eyes narrowed as he tried to aim for the little Riolu, but the guy was too quick for him to follow. He growled again, trying to intimidate the opponent.
